Anthony Basile, CPA, CVA, CFE is president of Anthony Ba- sile CPA, PC, a full-service CPA firm in Woodbury specializing in Business Valuation and Foren- sic Accounting services. Basile is licensed as a certified public ac- countant (CPA) and credentialed as a certified valuation analyst (CVA) and a certified fraud exam- iner (CFE). He is also a professor at Hofstra University teaching courses in forensic accounting, fraud, business valuation, audit- ing and taxation to undergradu- ate and graduate students.
Basile’s doctoral dissertation won a national research award and his other research has been published in accounting, taxa- tion, education and legal journals. His article on no-fault insurance fraud was cited by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

He also makes several me- dia appearances each year on TV and radio outlets including Fox 5, WABC, WCBS NY, News 12, NPR Radio, 880 and CBS. He also frequently lectures to business groups on topics such as business valuations, retirement planning, the forensic accountant’s role in litigation, stock options, divorce settlement, federal government shutdowns, sales tax issues and the accountant’s role as business advisor.
Basile is an expert witness in court cases involving business valuations and forensic account- ing. Based on that expertise, Ba- sile was the technical writer for the accounting profession’s busi- ness valuation standard, the AIC- PA’s SSVS#1.
Basil is a past president of the Nassau Chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs and is a board member of the New York State Board of Public Accoun- tancy, a regulatory Board of the Regents of the State of New York over CPA licensure.
